The Tinned Fruit Challenge

Whilst beginning to pack up for the end of university, I discovered an array of tinned goods under my chair. Tinned goods given to me by my father, presumably as a survival package for a post-apocalyptic/zombie invaded world. I have ten days left of living here, three of which I am not here for. This leaves me with the insurmountable challenge of consuming 4 full sized tins of fruit and 2 half sized tins of fruit, 9 full sized tins of tuna and 3 half sized tins of tuna, one tin of soup, one tin of sweetcorn, two pot noodles and 7 cup-a-soups in 7 days.

CAN IT BE DONE?!

I will update you on my progress.

For the hawk-eyed amongst you who have noticed the pot noodles and cup-a-soups are not present; Unfortunately they were away on another photo-shoot at the time and could not be present. Prior commitments and all that.

An Open Letter

Dear waist,

I know I neglected you during the stressful last two months of university. I know I stuffed my face with high sugary and fatty foods to comfort myself over the impending doom of dissertation and exams. I know this. I’m SORRY. Please come back. I miss you. I’m beginning to resemble a brick*.

Yours eternally,
Ruth.

(*Thankfully, not this brick. Ugh, her fifteen minutes of fame was so annoying. Veering on distressing actually.)

Resurrection

Oh my.
Oh my, oh my.

My darling potato blog! I have severely neglected you and for that I am deeply sorry! It won’t happen again, I promise! I can change!!*

Soooooo, it has been a ridiculously shameful 98 days since I have last posted on here! 98!! I’m almost half tempted to wait another two days until 100 to see if I will receive a telegram from the Queen.
I am so sorry bloggy, but in fairness I have been outrageously busy finishing university whilst juggling work and a social life. Excuses, excuses…
It’s been so long since I wrote on here that the last time I posted, I still had about 7 weeks before my big project was due in (Psychologist’s dissertation) and now I’m only 11 days to finding out the results of my whole degree!

My, my, my, cherry pie.

(This has absolutely no relevance and there’s nothing you can do about it. I don't even like cherry pie.)

Furthermore, I didn't entirely forget about you, I was still writing blog updates, but then just not posting them. So over the next few weeks I will filter them out onto here to try and fill in the gaps as to what’s been going on in my life since March 4th.
Here is a tiny snippet of what’s to come:

+Finished dissertation, essay and two exams (how exciting…)
+Quit my job at the Co-op!
+Surprised Amelia by taking her to Thorpe Park for her birthday-which was uhhhh-mazing.
+Saw Coldplay live at the Emirates Stadium
+Went to London for Jubilee festivities
+Belated celebrations in Brighton with Pippa for finishing our degrees
+Got tickets for Olympics at last!
+Watched many, many movies and the whole series of the Apprentice which was amazing, as usual! (and Nick, I believe, is my actual soulmate)

What’s more, as I now embark on a future of unemployment, homelessness and a decline in intelligence post-uni, I’ll be sure to regale you with my tales of job rejections, mouldy flat viewings and lack of moneyz.

That’s how, for now.

Ahh Fred. A pioneering user of the sunbed. (And, yes, that is Carol Vorderman mastering the How 2 wave whilst balancing a tiny hedgehog on her forehead. Miraculous.)

*Disclaimer: The statement above, may or may not be a lie.

I LOVE DOGS.

Just putting it out there. I love dogs. I do. They’re amazing!!! Testament to this is this nice lady’s blog about her dog, Charlie (same name as our dog!). I have read every single post in the ‘Charlie’ archive and if you have a good...4 hours to kill, then definitely have a read through of this. She takes some amazing, beautiful photos of him too, and she is such a funny writer, it’s a pleasure to read her work! Here is a photo of Charlie, her loyal bassett hound to tempt you onto her blog:

Gravity is not kind to Bassett Hounds.

I really think that dogs are truly man and woman’s best friend, they are so loyal and so loving and grateful.
It’s a weird thought thinking that the dog I will have when I’m older, hasn’t even been born yet.  It will definitely be a rescue mongrel, as that’s what Charlie, the dog we got when I was 14 is, and he is probably the best thing to happen to our family. Oh dear, this is getting quite the mushy, soppy blog now! Time to lighten it up with my selection of all time favourite dog photos:

Numero Uno: Lobster Dog

2. Cupcake Dog

3. Stretchy Dog

4. Happy Dog

5. Towel Dog

6. Whatcha Doin' Dog

7. Yoda Dog

8. Fast Food Dogs

9. Now for a little gif I found whilst researching doggie pictures...

10. Last, but not least, no homage to dogs is complete without this video. Never have I seen a more guilty looking dog before:

Kevin.

I know this is circulating and you may have heard it already but just in case you haven't, this is possibly the best reading out of crazy-lady text messages ever.
Performed by the brilliant Vaughan, he dictates the fleeting relationship between clingy JJ and poor, poor Kevin.
Worth every 8 and a half minutes! It's clocked up 518918 listens in 6 days (and probably more via other mediums) Pure comedic gold. Enjoy :)

KEVIN PLEEEEEEEEEEEASE.
